D is for...

Dukes of Hazzard

Shows I was watching in the seventies is my theme for the A-Z challenge this April.

How about these good old boys, Bo and Luke, never meanin' no harm. Yet somehow in trouble with the law since the day they was born.
Boss Hogg, Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane and Deputy Sheriff Enos were always calling shenanigans on those Duke boys. Uncle Jesse was trying to learn them a thing or two. Cousin Daisy certainly wasn't rushing to anyone's rescue, as it was a wonder she could even move in those shorts, let alone jump in the General Lee's window. I fancied myself a Luke Duke fan, not to take anything away from Bo Duke's golden locks. My heart could be fickle though at ten years old, depending on the episode. The best performer on the show actually may have been the car.

  1. My husband and I saw a car that someone had done just like the General Lee at a McDonald's once!

  4. I never watched this show......I guess I was just never a fan of anything Southern: music (except bluegrass but I think of that as more Appalachian than Southern), accents, weather, Confederate flag, etc.

  7. This used to be on when my nephew was little. He called it Duke-em Hazzard and, man, he loved the show. Mostly for the car and the car chases. That boy was nuts about cars. :)

  8. LOL this made me laugh. Particularly the last line. Yup, I wonder how much the car got paid per episode. hahahaha

And, those short, what can I say… Mother always said, "say nothing if you have nothing nice to say"… okay, she was cute, in a very blond way!

Until E… have a Happy Easter.

  9. I must have been too old for Dukes. Either that or there was something else on. I never watched it.

  10. It's not just you I fancied Luke too - but I think it has more to do with seeing beauty in everyone and not just the classical pretty boys. I loved the Dukes of Hazard mostly for the car, and Rosco's Basset Hound... :)

  12. OH I LOVED THIS SHOW! We really are the same age, aren't we...

I was watching an episode of Longmire the other day and there was a sheriff on there, and I looked and looked and I KNEW I knew who that guy was. It finally hit me...it was Luke Duke!

    He's aged very well!

  13. I think my favorite character was Roscoe. Or maybe Roscoe and Boss Hogg. They were soooo funny together.
