Q is for...

Quincy, M.E.

Shows I was watching in the seventies is my theme for the A-Z challenge this April.

Of course I was too young to watch this show. Look at the opening, as it pretty much warned us of what to expect. It was even too much for the police officers!

For some reason, despite the red flag, I still kept hoping to find Oscar Madison hanging around that medical examiner's office. (As long as Felix Unger wasn't the corpse du jour!) I usually took Qunicy's arrival on the screen to mean that it was time for me to go find something unrelated to television to occupy myself with. This had absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the show. Now that I am older than seven (much, much older) I may considering checking this out.

  1. I watched this show. Don't remember a lot of it but always liked him. You're right, it was the only option. Lol

  2. It's funny, I'm just starting to go back and watch the shows that were on during my childhood, and I can't believe my parents let me watch them--maybe they assumed most of it went over my head.

  3. I really only liked the beginning when all the cops pass out too. Other than that it really didn't hold my interest.

  4. Loved this show...STILL love the theme song. I've been trying to get it for my phone, to no avail. Philly does work in Quincy, IL, and every time he says he's heading up to Quincy, he pauses, waits for the Dun...da-da da da daaahhhh!!!

  5. I liked this show. Naturally, I can't recall even one episode, though I know I watched it. So maybe I didn't like it as much as I initially thought... hmmm.

  6. Quincy for me was like Kojak. I knew the gist of the story line but my little brain couldn't really fathom what it was entirely about until I was much older. And then, it became one of my favourite programmes about a county medical examiner investigator...okay, it became the only one about a county medical examiner investigator.

  7. I vaguely remember watching a few episodes, but I was young and really don't remember it much. It was like watching Oscar playing doctor! -http://50andfabulousblog.blogspot.com

  8. Now we have a number of CSIs to watch instead of Quincy.

  9. I still watch this show on Netflix! Quincy was such a character and I loved watching his antics! Good choice for Q! Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
