CHiPs
Shows I was watching in the seventies is my theme for the A-Z challenge this April.
It is time to get you own mirrored shades on, lest you be blinded by Erik Estrada's teeth.
Could you feel the majesty of the California Highway Patrol? (Which was somehow CHiPs for short.) The breeze rushing through your glorious seventies' mane? Frank Poncherello and Jon Baker out keeping the highway safe. Sometimes the stress of the job just gets to be too much and you have to unwind. Am I right Ponch? You're welcome for this bonus link...
Close that other tab, you do not need to buy yourself a disco ball today.
I liked this show for like the first season and thought Erik was cute. But I lived in CA for 10 years and no one referred to the CHP as 'Chips'. We called them C-H-P.
ReplyDeleteTalk about overacting! This one got really old for me right away, so I didn't watch much of it. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMake no mistake...my preteen self watching these shows did not correlate at all to whether or not they were decent ;)
DeletePonch and Jon!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh. I know this show was very popular, but I hated it.
ReplyDeletehahahaha! Am sure I wouldn't last until the first commercial break watching it now (unless I was laughing hard enough to stay tuned)
DeleteMy sister and I always fought a bout who was sexier. I loved Jon but she seemed dazzled by the whiteness of Ponch's teeth.
ReplyDeleteI loved this show, but looking back, god it was awful.
seventies sexy was a whole different ballgame, no?
DeleteAs a kid I love anything from the 70s, so I would definitely think I needed a disco ball then, and if I admit it I still want one haha!
ReplyDeleteI used to love watching Chips, because of all the overacting. I love William Shatner for the same reason!
ReplyDeleteWait, are you saying this wasn't emmy material? lol
DeleteNever heard of it. I don't think this one made it to South Africa...
ReplyDeletePerhaps we were too embarassed to export it ;)
DeleteOMG I love your theme! You're in my wheelhouse.
ReplyDeleteI remember playing CHiPs on our bikes in the neighborhood. Either that or Dukes of Hazard. I didn't really watch either show, but I knew enough about them from what the boys would relay to me while we were playing. Great memories!
Hi from Nagzilla bloghopping A to Z
I don't think our bicycle tires were much wider than their motorcycle ones! If your bike was doing incredible jumps, that was Dukes of Hazzard (tune in tomorrow)
DeleteThey were so cheesy! The 70's version of Miami Vice. Lol
ReplyDeleteYESS!!!!!! Ok this was the reason I wanted to move to Cali.....
ReplyDeleteI think I was one of the few who favored Jon over Ponch. They sure made those motorcycles glamorous, didn't they?
