Facts of Life
Shows I was watching in the seventies is my theme for the A-Z challenge this April.
This show may not have started until 1979, but I watched and loved the heck out of those gals from Eastland School enough for it to make the cut. Plus, we all needed to hear this song, right?
I was absolutely Team Jo over Team Blair. I am not sure I was old enough to recognize that the girls' characters were exaggerations, or that they were even just characters at all. I bought into the whole thing, as if I was going to meet Tootie at school. Yikes, the thought of that gossip girl still makes me cringe a little. I was always wishing the best for Natalie as I thought she'd make the best friend.
There certainly were some "very special episodes" for Mrs. Garrett and the girls. Well of course, as the world didn't always seem to be living up to their dreams.

For me the best part was that it brought George Clooney into our lives :)
ReplyDeleteI'm totally loving this month at your place....
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love The Facts of Life. I always find it funny to see one of the early episodes with Molly Ringwald on there, she was so young!
ReplyDeleteYou take the good...
ReplyDeleteFunny how those theme songs stick with you. I couldn't forget this one if I tried. I loved this show and also favored Jo over Blair.
ReplyDeleteLOVED this show. I totally had a girl crush on Jo. Blair was too prissy...even in real life.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite shows -- never wanted to miss an episode, even in reruns. I had to cheer for Lisa Whelchel when she was on Survivor.

I am not familiar with this, but sure glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThis is great - I'm loving these little trips down TV memory lane. I remember seeing this show, felt pretty much like you did. Go Team Jo!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this F post. Thanks for sharing it!

ReplyDeleteI LOVED this TV show!
ReplyDeleteI was Team Jo all the way!!!
I have seen "Natalie" in a few movie spots recently, but not "Blair" or "Jo." Great Idea for this challenge!
This show was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMy mom bought one of the box sets and brought it when she came to help me out after I gave birth to my youngest.
We sat and watched an entire season in one week while I was nursing my baby.
