…Vacation
Soundtracks That Mattered (to me) is my theme for the A-Z Challenge this April.
Well, well, well! What do we have here? A continuation of Kari's John Hughes themed birthday celebration!
A little Lindsey Buckingham can take you a long way...
I would be willing to bet some of you are surprised that this movie even has a soundtrack, right?
That was Lindsay Buckingham that sang that song? I had no idea. My hubby loves the Vacation movies. For me, I can't get past the continuity issues of the kids' ever changing ages. First they are tweens in the first movie, then they are mid to late teens in Europe, then they are little in Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHe has others on the soundtrack too. Crazy!
DeleteWho knew? Fun
ReplyDelete;)
DeleteOMG Aunt Edna! That movie cracks me up! I'm going to have to start paying more attention to soundtracks...

Hahahahaha! Roof racks and beaver cars!
DeleteThat Holiday Road song is the only one I remember from that movie. But the movie itself is very funny. :)
ReplyDelete(It might be the only one I actually remember being in it as well...shhhh)
DeleteOf course! This is a great choice. Love it. I also love Christmas Vacation- watch it every winter.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of them in awhile...ought to fix that.
DeleteDo you know you cannot buy Holiday Road on Itunes?
ReplyDeleteI know because I tried.
I love this whole thing.
Thank you so much for this.
THANK YOU WITH ALL OF MY HEART.
What?!?!?! Why can't we have nice things?!?!?!?
DeleteYou're welcome!
Lindsay Buckingham is an underrated songwriter!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has some of his cd's. I was a big Fleetwood Mac fan, but didn't realize he'd gone solo as well.
DeleteI've never really thought about National Lampoons movies in terms of their soundtracks before :) Thank you for the song rec - very bouncy.

Aside from that song, the music really isn't the first thing to come to mind I admit!
DeleteWhat a great theme for the challenge! I'm sorry I'm only finding it now. I'm looking forward to going back to read the rest. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYou might find several rainy day ideas!
DeleteI love the Vacation movies. Chevy Chase = hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI did used to enjoy him a lot!
