Computers baffle me, cell phones intrigue me (I am still impressed by cordless phones), iphones and ipads might as well be magic tricks. Sometimes I would like to have just a glimmer of knowledge about how such things work. However, I don't need to understand any of the technology to know that the ability to talk with loved ones, while seeing them on the computer screen, makes me so very happy.
Here is my sweet baby girl niece trying ever so hard to reach my dog, as she spotted him in the background...
(And there I am down in the left corner taking the pictures.) |
And here is my handsome nephew humoring his aunt with his "cheese" pose...
(He was taking pictures too.) |
I know, Skype is just the greatest thing.
ReplyDeleteTechnology can sometimes be a bitch but when you get moments like this it is all worth it!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwww!!!! When I see pictures of kids smiling, it makes me grin from ear to ear! Thank you for that!
ReplyDeleteI'm witchya, sister. I will never own an iPhone.
ReplyDeleteNot even when you are an even more famous author? :)
DeleteHi Andrea,
ReplyDeleteFunny you should post about technology today. I'm at my brother's house (he and his wife just had a baby girl, their first), and the weirdest thing happened. They have just about every technological toy there is. My sis-in-law had the apple remote to see if we could watch an episode of the office from Hulu. I had it pulled up on my computer, and she's working with her gianormous flat screen tv trying to access Hulu through her PS3. Suddenly, her remote started controlling my computer. Not kidding. Granted, all these toys are apple, and I was accessing their wireless network just like she was...but it was still spooky.
Anyway, I also stopped by to say that you won the IKEA gift card drawing that I had at the end of the Swedish lessons. I had a random number generator pick a comment, and it chose your comment for my G post. So my post for tomorrow will mention you, with a link to your blog, so I hope you meet some new friends. Please email me your physical address so I can send it to you, or I can see if they do electronic gift cards and email it to you. Let me know what you prefer. tndowney (at) gmail (dot) com. Congrats!

Andrea, congrats on winning the Ikea card! If you don't have one of their plastic bag holders that hangs on the wall...get one. It's the best! I think they're about a dollar.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at this post. I don't get technology either, but I do love Skype! Can't work it, but love seeing my grand-nephew. I have trouble still just answering my new phone. :-)
A plastic bag holder you say, sounds fancy and very practical! Thank you!
DeleteAndrea! I've got a couple of awards for you over at my place! come and get 'em!!!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, I love surprises like that! Thank you! :)
DeleteThat's beyond adorable. We're so happy to have FaceTime. It's the only way I ever would've seen my brother's house!
ReplyDeleteI would DIE without my iPhone......
ReplyDeleteAw that is just the cutest picture!
