V is for...

Vera (from Alice)

Shows I was watching in the seventies is my theme for the A-Z challenge this April.

There have been at three times that I have had a "Vera and her straws" moment, and none of those times found me in the company of people old wise enough to get the reference. You remember though, right? Here's a little refresher, as well as a great theme song.

Alice had her act together, so well-equipped to take on burly Mel, scattered Vera and sassy Flo. Look at that hottie of a son, Tommy (for anyone with a girl crush on Jo from Facts of Life, requests answered for Nancy McKeon to have a brother). Alice worked so hard to raise him, despite roadblocks for her own singing career dreams.

I had to cheat a little bit on this one, but I don't mind. Kiss my grits!

  2. I loved that show. Great cast. Did you ever see the original movie from which the show was spun?

  3. I caught some episodes and enjoyed it, but I was a little young and don't remember it too much now. -http://50andfabulousblog.blogspot.com

  4. Another classic. There used to be a diner in town where we went often. There was a tall lanky waitress and we always referred to her as Flo. Lol

  5. I saw no cheating - this was an awesome V post.
You've really stirred up my childhood TV watching days. This was one of those shows that had value to it.
