As I was snowblowing the driveway this morning, I thought about how it was over forty degrees just two days ago...that was nice. I started to wonder if winter was becoming that little kid tugging on our legs, just wanting us to engage and acknowledge him with a smile on our face.
No Fozzie, I did not say with snow all over our face. Now where was I? Oh, that's right, my latest theory. So maybe winter is just tired of all of the negative attention and wants a little hug and some appreciation, to be treated like a little angel...
To be heralded for the beauty and peace...
Cross-country skiing is fun! Thank you winter!
Winterfest in Syracuse is fun, and french toast martinis are apparently delicious. Thank you winter!
Snowballs are fun, as long as nobody gets hit in the face. Thank you winter!
Seriously Foz, again?
It might have taken a little begging on my part, but this yard did not go without a snowsomebody this year. Thank you winter!
Are we good? Are we done now? Do you feel enough love to warm your heart and carry you until next December, Winter? I should check the forecast...I see we are expecting more of your flakey friends to arrive daily for the rest of the week. That's great, no really, great, because this isn't getting old...at all...
No. See, I cannot thank her. She's been a real beeyotch this year. Instead, I choose to flee from her snowy clutches in 3 short (very very long!) days, and visit her long lost cousins . . . Warm and Sunny. Then again, I will have to return a few days later. Drats! I think I just discovered the flaw in my plans. :(
ReplyDeleteSee, if we had snow, that would be something else. We just have the miserable cold seeping underneath doors and such. Snow would make it all better in these parts. Send some down, would you?
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda enjoying it, especially the cross country skiing with my special girl and the days when I can just curl up on the couch with a good book and the cat. The trips to El Ranco del Blancho, well not so much. I would like to see a little bit of GREEN for St Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteSo much snow...and oh, so cold. Glad you have a sense of humor about it and can appreciate your winters!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sick of it. I want this to be over. I haven't adjusted well to east coast winters since moving back in the summer of 2011. I miss the Pacific NW climate!
ReplyDeleteThat's the cutest witta face. My late beloved Faulkner loved to stick his long collie nose in the snow and snort. They he'd have a cute little pile of snow on his nose.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie, who is so glad it was sunny and almost 80 degrees today
As I was shoveling my driveway, I thought about how nice it would be to have a snowblower! ;) Hahaha! But seriously, I am so over winter!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Especially the martini part. I think it's been an especially wintery-winter all over this place. Kinda hate to disagree with you, but this Viking Chick from Sweden has totally been digging (pun intended) this winter wonderland of much colder than usual temperatures. I think it's in the genes. That, and having three men around to shovel and scrape cars and get to be the princess who walks out to her magically cleaned, snow-free driveway and car might have something to do with it.

French toast martinis??? That's a thing? Pure genius!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your snow blob!
French Toast Marinis probably makes you not care about winter. I need one. Now.
ReplyDeleteFozzie is so sweet….he has the sweetest face!
