52 Weeks of Happiness - Week 17

One would think that this being our twelfth summer trip with the two kids to Cape Cod would give me some idea what we might need. I am not very good at packing, not very good at all. As a result it is not one of my favorite things to do, but I keep my eye on the prize!

I am very happy that three out of the four of us (leaving the one I am not in charge of in any way to his own luggage devices) are ready to go tomorrow!
Note Nauset Beach hat. Obviously mom did this one.
I am not sure what shorts I wear everyday as I did not see anything I wanted to pack
I suppose I should take some inventory of what this little lady actually put in her bag.
I am happy that we got ourselves these cool (yes, so very cool) bracelets last year to commemorate our fabulous boogie boarding days. We all wore them to activate our powers this evening!

Stop by to visit Leigh to see what is making her and her other friends happy this week!

  1. I love the bracelet idea! I am on this kick this summer to make the summer memorable, and I do believe matching bracelets should secure Plan A! Thank you!

  2. I have traveled and lived in over 30 countries in the past 11 years now. One thing that I have learned from the experiences is that no matter how well prepared you think you are, one always leaves something behind of importance. In fact, I can't think of a time where I remembered to bring everything I needed or wanted to.

Enjoy your vacation trip to Cape Cod.

  3. My philosophy to whatever I leave behind: I'm sure they have a Wal-Mart.

  4. I used to have one of those bracelets!!!!! Oh, that brings back memories. I always forget at least one thing when I pack. It's a given. I guess that my brain gets packed up as well, and that one item just falls right out.

  6. I hate packing too. Sometimes I wonder if it would be easier to just buy everything when I get there. Hope you have a great trip! Can't wait to hear about it!

  7. I hope it's cool up there. Bring some back to us, k?

I hate packing as well. I pack for everyone, but I do make the hubs provide the clothing for himself. I just make sure it all gets packed up in a reasonable facsimile of order. But I always forget at least one thing. Meh, that's what stores are for. There is always somewhere we can buy something we forgot. Even though we usually get gouged for it.

    Have fun!!

  8. Enjoy yourselves! I used to pack all the time and got really good at it, but now that we've been living in America for awhile we don't travel as much. Whenever a trip comes around I have to reactivate my packing brain ... it truly is an art! I hope you have a wonderful trip!

  10. Do what I do: put everything in a bag, then dump it all out and only put back your swim suit, sweatshirt, and flip flops. (Learned it from the kids!) bonvoyage .... watch out for, well, you know, da-dump. daa-dump. da-dump-da-dump-da-dump sightings.
