Another week randomly flying by

Yes, it's that most wonderful and shiny time of the year again!
I can't hog all of the fun for myself. I just want to make sure the rest of the neighbors get to experience some barn swallow joy. The fascinating mud nests, the thrill of dodging the swooping (let alone the pooping).

I went to visit the aviary population in their own habitat. Apparently the swallows received word about my arrival...
...cold shoulder wing, much? How about the Great Blue Heron rookery? (Yeah, my friend is a big time birder, so I have the lingo as well as knowing who I was looking at.)
Feeding time!
Speaking of feeding time, this was a yummy lunch - chorizo and potato taco...
...and then my first trip to a noodle house for dinner...
...the food came practically before we ordered! Sorry, Baxter, no doggy bag (or at least not one I was willing to share).
At least you came inside with time to spare...
Pepe Le Pew!!! Apparently my cousin and his family have Wild Kingdom going on in their back yard, even if I don't have all relevant supporting photographic evidence here to prove it. I can show that sometimes even three year olds have their own creepy little monkeys...
...I remain in awe of how long these folks have kept track of these tiny little friends! Well this has been me...

...interacting as myself!

  1. I love that pic of the blue heron rookery.

Somedays, it feels like Wild Animal Kingdom in my own backyard, but I suppose that's what I get for living next to a nature preserve. I haven't seen any skunks, though. At least not yet...
